We’re Getting Married!

Laura and Julian first met around 16 years ago in Michigan, when life was simpler and video calls were still a novelty. They became fast friends, bonding over music, laughter, and countless late-night Skype chats across time zones. Even then, there was a quiet sense that their connection was something special.

But with Julian living in the UK and Laura in the US, life eventually pulled them in different directions. Though they stayed in touch from time to time, more than a decade passed without seeing each other in person. Still, no matter the distance or the years between them, something about their friendship always endured—it never truly left them.

Then, a few years ago, everything changed. Julian was visiting the US, and the pair met up. From the moment they saw each other again, it was as if no time had passed. All the old warmth and spark came rushing back, and it quickly became clear they shared something rare.

They often joked (only half-jokingly) that the other had been “the one that got away.” But this time, they didn’t get away. Over the next four years, they built a life together full of joy, deep conversation, adventures, and shared dreams—across cities, countries, and time zones.

On 14th September 2024, Julian proposed to Laura in northern Michigan, at a quiet, beautiful spot they’d visited before. It was the perfect place for a new chapter to begin—one grounded in years of friendship, a deep and enduring love, and the kind of connection that stands the test of time.
